The Corps takes part in 2017 Lord Mayor’s Show

The FANY took part in today’s Lord Mayor’s Show on foot and on horseback.

FANYs took part in today’s Lord Mayor’s Show (11 November) on foot and on horseback, celebrating 110 years of the Corps and a year of providing resilience support for London.  Members took part in the walking procession dressed to demonstrate the variety of support provided by the Corps in the past and throughout 2017 and FANYs took part on horseback in original 1907 uniforms with some riding side-saddle as would have been standard at the time.

The Commanding Officer and 2Lt Zoe Brooke, Deputy Ops Officer (Resilience), took part in the coverage provided by the BBC throughout the day.  They discussed how the Corps has supported the civilian and military authorities this year, and highlighted the different roles that FANYs have played since 1907. Tune in here (from 56:58).
