The FANY wireless operator working for Force 136.
Marsali Wood was a FANY wireless operator working for Force 136 Special Operations Executive (SOE). After training at Fawley Court and Dunbar, she was posted to Calcutta, India where she was responsible for receiving messages from allied agents in Burma (Myanmar). She remembers that on VJ Day word spread very quickly that the war was over, and everybody was very excited.
We are very sad to report that Marsali died of COVID-19 in April 2020. Our condolences to her family.
