FANYs attended a garden party at Downing Street to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) on Thursday 14 August.
The event was hosted by Prime Minister Keir Starmer and guests included key military representatives; youth organisations; descendants of those who had served in in the war in Asia and the Pacific; officials from Commonwealth War Graves; the Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom; and WWII Veterans.
As well as attending the event and taking part in the commemorations, FANYs provided support to the Veterans and their families in attendance.
