73 Active Members and 13 Recruits attended Annual Camp at Blandford Camp in Dorset in May. Blandford Camp is currently the home of the Royal Signals, housing both the headquarters of the corps as well as the headquarters of the Defence College of Communications and Information Systems (DCCIS), the Royal School of Signals, the Royal Signals Museum, and the HQ Station of the Royal Signals Amateur Radio Society.
Throughout the weekend, FANYs enjoyed a wide range of training from military partners, developing teamwork, communication, decision-making and military skills. Recruits undertook a separate training programme for the first 24 hours, enabling them to work together and learn how to operate in a military environment (noting that 60% of our deployments are in support of the military).
