LISTEN TO THE PODCAST WITH JOYCE - HELLO YOU, THIS IS ME - HERE

Joyce Wilding,101 year old FANY SOE veteran, volunteered to join the FANYs in 1943 aged 19. Joyce served in England as a transmitter hut attendant at the SOE training school in Thame Park in Oxfordshire receiving messages from SOE agents deployed in the field. Later in the war, she served as an SOE driver supporting Station 14 (SOE's forgery centre) picking up and delivering clothes, disguises, and other supplies for agents.

Joyce remembers dancing the hokey cokey in Piccadilly with American soldiers on VE Day!

She will be reading one of the prayers during the VE 80 Westminster Abbey National Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving and was present on the Dias alongside HM The King and 30 other WWII Veterans during the VE 80 Day National Parade.
