Poppy Day 2016

London Poppy Day is in its tenth year, having started on a very informal basis by a couple of ex-military friends in 2006. Since then it has grown tremendously into the official event it is today.  Approximately 1,500 military personnel gave up their time to embark on “the biggest and most ambitious one-day street collection event of its kind” to help raise significant sums of money for the Royal British Legion.  16 FANYs donned MTP and dispersed to 12 different tube and mainline railway stations to undertake their shifts and thereby contributed towards the £800,775 raised during the course of the day.
