After one of the biggest snowfalls the Alps has seen for a few years, the FANY girls were naturally extremely eager for Exercise Snowfox to begin. We were blessed with fantastic snow conditions which enabled full days of wonderful skiing.
After an exhausting warm-up first day we all headed back to the chalet via the local hostelry, for a little après ski and an opportunity to meet some of other yeomanry units who were taking part in Snowfox.
The next three days flew by and it was soon time for the competitions to begin, the first of which consisted of the orienteering Exercise which the FANY team won!
On the last day came the race down the Giant Slalom; tensions were high but everyone was spurred on by the enthusiastic crowd. The FANYs did very well with Anna Hutchings coming first and Jenny Johnston coming third out of all the ladies. Anna came fourth overall which was a tremendous result! Caroline Mongan was awarded the Director's Prize for her overall contribution to the success of the Exercise as a whole.
